Re: New Mail Inconsistency (2003/SP3)

Have you tried closing then opening Outlook again?
If that does not work, then I surrender.

Yes; unfortunately, neither closing and re-opening, nor rebooting does the trick.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    Have you tried running SCANPST.exe?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Thanks fosr the input Dave.

    I am confused.

    I found SCANPST.exe in "C:Program FilesCommon FilesSystemMSMAPI1033".

When I ran it, I was asked which file scan.

You may have multiple PST files. To navigate to the default storage location, try:

    c:documents and settingsusernameLocal SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlook

    Thanks Jefferson
I ran SCANPST.exe on all .pst files. No change. I will see what results a re-install provide.

Rather than a complete reinstall, you might try a repair first.

See if resetting the Outlook Today View helps. Click on Customize Outlook Today (at the right end of the date bar), change an Outlook Today View Setting, Save Changes, then go back in and change it back, Save Changes, close and restart Outlook.

    Problem Solved

Thank you one and all for your support. My problem was caused by identifying the wrong folder to be displayed when customizing Outlook Today.

    New Mail Inconsistency (2003/SP3)

(Edited by wdwells on 18-Mar-08 12:15. Incorrect graphic replaced)
The "Outlook Today" view has recently decided to disregard new mail in the messages portion of the window. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the cause/remedy?

    TIA
