    de-highlighting text (2003)

    Hello all,

    Is there a shortcut to unhightlight text without having to select the highlight portion and manually clicking on the unhighlight button?

    I tried select the text and pressing cntrl + spacebar with no luck.

    Sincerely,

    JMT

    Re: de-highlighting text (2003)

    Using the highlighter doesn't count as character formatting.
    There is no built-in keyboard shortcut for removing highlighting. You could do the following:
    - Create a macro named Dehighlight in your Normal.dot template (i.e. a macro that will be available in all open documents):

    Sub Dehighlight()
    Selection.Range.HighlightColorIndex = wdNoHighlight
    End Sub

    - Assign this macro to a keyboard shortcut using Tools | Customize... > Keyboard...
    - If you wish, you can also assign the macro to a custom toolbar button.

    Re: de-highlighting text (2003)

    One of these days I am going to learn macros (with your help, Hans <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> ). Until then, I am going to manually select text and scroll up to the dehighlight button.

    Kind regards,
