Image 'blocked' - no download option (2003)

Sometimes when I email a screenshot to my coworker, the image shows up. Other times all he sees is a red X. Everything I've researched indicates that the solution is to change the automatic download settings or right click and select "download picture." However, when he right clicks on the image, there is no option to download. Also, there's no message about blocked content.

    Any ideas?

Images you paste into a message, which do not have a URL out to the Internet, should not be blocked. is it possible that there is a problem with the format and the Rich Text/HTML conversion? For best results, take an extra step:

    (1) Save your screen shot to disk in a typical web format such as JPG (best for subtle color variations) or PNG (best for large areas of flat color)

    (2) Compose in HTML format and use Insert>Picture>From File to embed the screen shot

Hopefully this will work around format/conversion problems. Any luck?

    jscher, thanks for your reply.

Earlier today I actually tried exactly what you're suggesting. I took a saved .jpg file and did the Insert>Picture>From File to check whether it was a jpg problem. When I sent it to him, all he saw in the message was a red X. I told him to reply to the message so it would go back to me in it's original format. I was still able to see the jpg image. I replied back to him and embedded a png and a gif image. When he got my message with the two extra images, he was able to see all 3 images.

I've never seen anything like this.

Sometimes strange things happen when the Outlook temporary folder has reached the limits set in your Internet options. See Error opening attachments / Cleaning out the Temporary Outlook Files folder | HowTo-Outlook for information on cleaning out the folder.
