    WAV files

    Dear Loungers,

I am trying to cut out the last 10 minutes of a sound recording I made. Does anyone know of any software that can be used to edit WAV files? I was checking all throughout Realplayer, but could find no such functions. I dont' think Windows Sound recorder lets you cut portions out of the sound file either.

    Any advice is much appreciated.

    One that I use is Audacity. The best part is it is <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> .

    Re: WAV files

There are some great programs available from Free to $x000, Creative SoundBlaster Live had a good one attached to their software. Personally I use WaveLab Lite but this is no longer available, the price of the full blown version is over $1,000.00
Do an online search for wave (note the wavE) editor.
If it is a one off job few features are necessary, the ability to insert silence is important (to me) but is the reverse of your problem.

You might get some leads from dadiOH's dandies - Shareup Networks.
I have found Wave Repair to be useful for editing wav files.
