    Context Menu Edits (Home Premium)

    Edit:

I found what I needed: Creative Element Power Tools

    Just what the doctor ordered.

They took away the ability in Explorer it seems, to edit the context menu of file types.

What if any is the rreplacement / workaround for this?

There are several "tools" in this package, but, which part allowed you to edit the Context menu and how?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Dave:

When I started looking, I was initially just trying to find a way to control default actions, such as double-clicking a reg type entry and what would then happen.

Within the "Edit file type extensions, you can, with a click, do just that. In addition, on the same screen, you can add, eedit, and remove items, much the same as the "old" file types tab in XP.

And, just as importantly (for me), by not having to directly access the registry, it's a whole lot safer.
