    Gadgets button not responding

    I am trying to get a Microsoft Wireless Laser keyboard 6000 set up.

    I have/had a Comfort 4000, but it has started giving me a bit of trouble, and I had this 6666, aa I thought I'd try it.

    Install seemed to go OK. Everything seemed to work as expected... except the Gadgets key.

    It seems totally unresponsive in Vista Home Premium. Help says it's supposed to "...open the Windows Sidebar. In Windows XP, goes to Live.com where you can add Gadgets to a personalized page."

    Yet when I press it, nothing.

    I even tried assigning it a "launch" function to call the Gadgets bar... nada.

    Am I missing something here, or is this keyboard "DOA"? MS support Is closed for now, so I'm not at all sure...

    I don't suppose you have Googled the subject?
    It comes right up with MS Vista software updates for the Model 6000 keyboard.

    I'm using IntelliType 6.2... latest and greatest for Vista.

    S this afternoon couldn't find why either, even after looking over my machine, so they're sending me a new keyboard and mouse.

    I wasn't bothered. I know that in fact that there is a certain amount of truth in your point. I have certainly been guilty of over-zealous adjusting and then freaking out before I had properly reviewed my situation, options, and resources.

    I am, unfortunately, a slow study in amending my ways. I'll make myself a checklist, maybe?! <img src=/S/compute.gif border=0 alt=compute width=40 height=20>
