    inbox question (2003)

Our Outlook inbox has a line at the top that says "click here to add a new post" and I think it is used to make an inbox posting. How can I remove that?

Could you post a screenshot? I can't remember having seen this, only "Click here to add a new task" in Calendar and Tasks.

Edited by HansV to reduce size of screenshot

Here is the screenshot. Note just below the word SUBJECT at the top of the inbox. The first line of the inbox says "click here to add a new post"

This is what I am trying to remove.

As far as I know, this is not a standard feature in Outlook 2003. I don't see any option to display it. Have you installed any add-ins for Outlook? (Tools | Options..., Other tab, Advanced Options..., Add-In Manager... and COM Add-Ins...)

    Found it!

Select View | Arrange By | Current View | Customize Current View...
    Click Other Settings...
Clear the check box Show "new item" row.
    OK your way out.

The check box Show "new item" row is only enabled if the check box Allow in-cell editing is ticked. In my Outlook, the latter check box is off for all folders except Tasks, hence I couldn't find a way to select Show "new item" row.
