    Runtime Error '4608' (Word 2003)

I am running a VBA routine that does some stufff and eventually creates bookmarks. The total number of bookmarks that needs to be created is 234. Via the routine, bookmarks are set as expected; All of a sudden I get a runtime error '4608' that states...

"Word has insufficient memory. You will not be able to undo this action once completed. Do you want to continue?"

I closed my Outlook and re-ran, still got the error. I was thinking maybe it is the number of characters in the bookmark. Most of the bookmarks are as such...."VIII_E_1_2_a". Is there a memory difference between setting a bookmark as "VIII_E_1_2_a" compared to "xxx"?

I noticed the document swelled from approximately 700kb to 2,156kb.

Has anyone ever experienced this and or is there a fix for such occurrence?

What happens if you select the option to continue without Undo?

It simply runs a little more (maybe 30 seconds) and message reappears.

I think you'll have to split up your macro into several parts to be run separately, or else let it process a limited number of bookmarks at a time.
