Rename PDF Files and Create Access DB (VBA/Office 2007)

Hi Best Wishes to all the Loungers,

For reference the Access DB i'm working in is in 2000 Compatability Mode.

The end result of this project is create a Folder containing renamed PDF documents including a new (Clean) Access DB which I will import two Tables into.

The Structure I see is as Follows.

    1) Open a Folder on the Desktop (For Example "OldDocs")
    2) Copy all PDF files contained in Folder into a New Folder Called (For Example "NewDocs")
    3) Create a New Access DataBase Called (For Example "NewDB")
    4) Rename all the PDF files adding (For Example "Processed" After the existing name andbefore the ".pdf"
    5) Export Tables from Active DataBase to "NewDB" (ie using docmd.TransferDatabase)

If anyone has any ideas regarding Compressing the Created File (Windows XP SP2) without resorting to WinZip with CommandLine, that'd be great.

If I need to Add any references to Manipulate PDF please Advise.

But Any assisstance is as always gratefully Received.

As a note: My company may be in a position where we are looking for an Offsite Contractor to code snippets within an existing structure. If there are any rules regarding soliciting on a Contract basis on wopr please Advise. Or APPLY.

You want to compress the new MDB file to a ZIP without using third party software? The Windows API includes some methods. If you Google around, you can find some tips. Here's one:

Concerning your other question: Woody's Lounge is not a job exchange. (Loungers are of course free to contact you directly)
