    View Data Folders (Outlook 2003)

Hi everyone, in earlier versions of Outlook I was able to add a shortcut to my Outlook bar that actually enabled me to display the files in a standard Windows Explorer folder. I could choose which fields I wanted to see (for example: filename, author, keywords) and more importantly I could easily print this out by using the standard Outlook print features.

Is this feature still available in 2003 (and 2007?) and if so, how do I found it!

    Thanks.

You cannot display a disk folder any more within Outlook 2003 and later, nor can you use Outlook as web browser. This is "by design".
You can still create shortcuts to documents and to web pages in the Shortcuts pane (click <IMG SRC=http://www.slipstick.com/images/shortcuts.gif> at the bottom of the Navigation pane).

Well that is frustrating - two questions then: One, I still can't see how to add a shortcut to a document, even by clicking "shortcuts" I can't see how I can browse to a file - I can only see Outlook folders. What am I missing?

Second, how then do I print a list of files contained within a folder?

    1) Drag a document from Windows Explorer into the Shortcuts pane.

    2) Karen's Directory Printer is a free utility to print a list of files in a folder.

I've just tried dragging a document into the shortcut pane but it won't let me.

Thank you for the link to "Karen's Directory Printer" this looks great!

Re: View Data Folders (Outlook 2003)

OK - trying at 3 in the morning wasn't a good idea! It seems I have to be very specific about where I drop the file - it has to be onto an actual header, not just anywhere in the shortcut pain.

    Thanks very much.
