    counter repainting (XP)

    I have a counter on a form that shows the user where a process is up to, using -
    Set fImport = Forms("frmImport")
    fImport.txtCounted = fImport.txtCounted + 1
    If fImport.txtCounted Mod 100 = 0 Then
    fImport.Repaint
    End If
    QueryCount = varInput

    Problem is that when the user moves focus from Access to another application it stops refreshing. When focus returns to Access it still does not update unless I do a Ctrl+Break and then continue.
    Any ideas as to how to get it to refresh once Access gets the focus back?

    Try inserting a line

    DoEvents

    in the code.

    Yep - that did the trick, so easy when you know.
