    Saving Access Template (2003)

When I download a MS Access template I am not given a choice where to save it. How can I save the template? When I click on File | Save As, it just wants to save a form, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'd just download the template to wherever Microsoft wants to install it, then search for it afterwards.

    Hi Hans,
Thanks for your quick reply. I have no choice but to do what you suggest. What I am looking for is a way after it has been downloaded to save it to a client file. I have been unable to figure out how to do that thus far. I tought that perhaps there is some trick to accomplishing this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know how exactly it works for Access, for I'm using Access 2002 at the moment and Microsoft has removed all Access 2002 templates from its website.
When I try an Excel or Word template, however, it's downloaded to a subfolder of my Temp folder; the template remains behind when I close the workbook based on it. So take a look at the subfolders of your Temp folder (the subfolders I got had names such as TCD7.tmp)

Don't know if this is your situation.

On your File Down dialog screen,

Do you want to open or save this file?

    Open - Save - Cancel

make sure there is a check mark in

Always ask before opening this type of file.

That doesn't work for the templates on the Microsoft website - they are not simply file downloads.
