Synchrondize Folders (Outlook 2007 Vista HP)

Can someone advise how to disable the synchrondizing folders that appears in the start up tray when opening outlook. This process almost freezes the computer until it done usually 5 to 10 minutes and happen at least daily. My system is Quad Core 2.4 2 meg memory 320 gig hd.
    Thanks

I moved this post from the General Office forum to the Outlook forum.

Do you use Outlook with Exchange Server?
Have you configured Outlook to have offline folders?

That a question I cannot really answer - all I did was install and configure outlook to work as part of Office 2007.

Have you installed Office 2007 SP-1? There was a fix released at some point to help with large pst files (see Outlook 12 : Outlook Performance Update for more information). NOTE: this fix is included in SP-1. RSS feeds also tend to slow down Outlook. See Outlook 2007: Remove or Disable RSS Feed Support - Tech-Recipes.com.

Also, if this PC is for home use it is unlikely you are using Exchange server.

Yes SP1 is inistalled and I don't subscribe to any RSS feeds although at installation it gave me that option and yes the computer is used at home as a stand alone computer. Hope this information helps.

    Thanks

I think you should still go through the steps to disable RSS. Even though you did not subscribe to any RSS feeds it may still be trying to synch with the common storage.
