    MS Money vs Quicken

I had used MS Money a long time ago and was quite disappointed and switched to Quicken. I am now looking at upgrading quicken and thought to check out MS Money. Has anyone compared the two and if so what are some of your comments?
    Thanks John

If you like what you are using and you are used to it, why bother changing? From what I've read, either will do the basic job nicely. Depending on your individual situation there may be a feature in one that suits you better. But that is something you need to determine.

    2 reasons Joe.
1: I am not real happy with Quicken and never have really been although it is a lot easier to use than the last time I tried MS Money.
2: Ever since upgrading to Office 2007, I have been switching some software over to Microsoft because of stability and integration. I have been using their Accounting package and I really like that. I like things that play together nicely.
    Thanks John

Then go for it. You can regularly find deals on Money in the weekend paper.

    Re: MS Money vs Quicken

I switched from Money to Quicken a while back as well. I much preferred Money's interface and tried to switch back to a newer version of Money. Yuck! I've been off both for a couple of years and am tempted to try them both again, but I recently found something much more interesting. Mint is an on-line management tool that pulls its data directly from the banks. Sounds scary, I know, but I'm really impressed with it so far. It may not have all the features of the stand-alone application, but it helps me track my expenses sooo much more easily.

Quicken will also do the same. It will update your accounts directly from your bank. ( as long as your bank is set up to do that )

I went through the Quicken vs. Money thing a few years ago and finally decided on Quicken because of ease of use.

Just to throw one into the mix, you might want to take a look at Microsoft Office Accounting Express. It's <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> and can "quickly import your existing data from Office ExcelŽ, Microsoft Money, and Intuit QuickBooks, so there is no need to start from scratch."
