Getting rid of old driver references (SP2 Pro)

I've had to reinstall a couple of drivers for camera and scanner numerous times. I now have "versions" of these drivers (#4 and #2) showing in Device Manager. I'm wondering how to get rid of these numbers, and delete any redundant copies that might exist.

What do you find if you look for "non present" devices in DM?

I already have hidden devices set to show and, as you see from the screenshot, there aren't any showing. Just to be sure though, I retried after a reboot and voila - the ghosts appeared! Thanks Argus, and for the nice star post.

You're welcome. Note the difference between hidden devices (Show hidden on the View menu) that shows non-Plug and Play devices, drivers, and printers, and, non present devices ("ghosted" devices).

But you maybe meant that you had (always) the show_nonpresent_devices variable set in the environment variables and it still didn't show at first?
