    comment box (access 2003)

    Good Afternoon All
    I have another problem I'm trying to add a comment box to my vb script in the BeforeUpdate box so that users can say why they made a change to the document. Having a problem putting it all together need help please. Thank you all for your help in advance.

    If you want to store the comment in the table, you must add a comment field to the table - either a text field (length set by you, with a maximum of 255) or a memo field (length virtually unlimited).
    You can add a text box bound to the comment field to the form, and check in the Before Update event whether it has been filled in, and cancel the update if not.
    Or you could use the InputBox function:

    Private Sub Form_BeforeUpdate(Cancel As Integer)
    Me.txtComment = InputBox("Why did you modify the record?")
    End Sub
