Help needed in defining margins Page Setup (MSWord 2003 (11.8202.8202) SP3)

I have the following problem. I set my page margins using Page Setup to 1.5 Left 1 Right etc. After setting it so, the page does not ssem to be 81/2 by 11 even though the margins are correct and the paper size ( Paper size: Letter, Width 8 1/2, Length 11 in Page Setup->Paper) is also 'correct'. If I close and reopen the file, the text jumps outside the margins and runs off the page. Is there a remedy?

If you check the format of your paragraphs, do they have non-zero indent settings (left or right)?

Perhaps you can post a sample badly behaved document. Replace any confidential information with something else.

I don't see anything unusual, but "track changes" is enabled. There might be a problem with the way Word is displaying some tracked changes. You could try toggling the balloon settings on and off (Tools>Options>Track Changes). Does that make any difference?

As Jefferson noted, the document has Track Changes turned on, and it contains one tracked change: the left margin has been increased from 1.0" to 1.5" by you (lhailema).
If you display tracked changes in balloons, this will alter the displayed right margin to make room for the balloons.
