Incomplete Chart Painting (2003 Pro/SP3)

The visible sheet of the attached workbook contains four charts; three of which contain an element which is filled with two colours. Frequently (not always), when bringing one of the charts containing a two-coloured element into view with a large scroll, the two-coloured element is not painted completely, if at all. This can be rectified by subsequently applying one or a combination of the following actions in some sequence inconsistent.

Selecting the element on the chart

Calculating now (F9)

selecting a different cell[/list] While I can personally tolerate this behaviour, my users are less tolerant and less familiar with Excel.

Is anyone aware of a known undocumented feature in Excel which causes this behaviour?

Is there a workaround?

The problem is probably with the video card/driver, not with Excel.
1) Make sure that all PCs have the latest driver for the video card.
2) You might try this:
- Open the Display Properties control panel (either by right-clicking an empty part of the desktop and selecting Properties from the popup menu, or through Start | Control Panel)
- Activate the Settings tab,
- Click Advanced.
- Activate the Troubleshoot tab.
- Drag the Hardware acceleration slider a notch or two to the left.
- OK your way out.
- If that doesn't help, repeat.
- If it doesn't help at all, you can restore the original setting.
