Behind the Opeing Screen (Home Premium)

When Windows starts up, there are a couple or three "default sounds" that are set off while the Windows Vista "green screen" is up, so that you can't see what's setting off the sounds.

How can this be turned off or "seen behind" so that one can make sure it's not anything wrong?

You can do as I have done in XP. Turn off ALL the sounds. No beeps, boops zooms or anything. Very peaceful!

And as long as the OS boots up OK, why worry about if anything "wrong" is going on behind your back?

That would be OK, if 1) I didn't tinker and was therefore worried it MIGHT be someting, and 2) Just 'cause I'm paranoid, don't mean nothin's wrong!

What is the problem? Too many sounds at one time (boot) that you can't hear if one of them is an alert? Can't the sounds be turned of individually in Vista? Or do you want some non GUI boot? Don't know if thats possible in Vista; the no GUI option in msconfig only replaces the original with a picture, no progress bar, and some reports the boot takes longer time, so not much gained by that.
