Stacking Order of doc files (2003)

This is not a big issue as there are workarounds, but it is a question that arose.

I want to have multiple Word files open so a macro from another file can extract certain information from them. If I do a group selection of the files and then right click and click Open the deed is done. They are opened, however, in a stacking order which depends on which file was last selected. As the sequence in which the opened files are processed can be important, my question is:
Can the stacking order of multiple open doc files be changed and if so how?

I think you'd have to open them one by one from the macro, and keep track of the names in an array or so. Stacking order is not dependable.

Thanks Hans, I half suspected as much. I shall now redirect my efforts.
