Mapped name not accessible (Home Premium)

I remember having issue with this in XP, but I cured it (board help) by setting the IRPStackSize in the registry.

I'm getting the sane thing now, and I've already set the IRPStackSize.

The name refers to a local share, not one on a network.

I also tried removing it and re-trying... no help.

What the heck would cause this, and what might be the solution?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    Added not:

    Specifically it says

The specified network name is no longer available.

    Dave:

No, this is a mapping to my personal folders and was working fine until...

Is it possible Dave, that this might be a firewall issue? Seems strange as it's a local folder though....

Did you change something on the firewall? Did you disable any services?

    Joe:

Yes, I just installed Kaspersky. But I've been using that for quite a while without issue, so I don't understand...

Re: Mapped name not accessible (Home Premium)

    Guys:

    I'm sorry...

    It's something in my firewall.

If I turn it off, all's OK. Turn it on, and I have total access untill I re-boot, and then the mapping doesn't work again.

    Sorry for th bother.
