    Itunes Conversion

    Does anyone know of any reliable SW to convert Itunes to mp3?

    iTunes can export all non-iTunes store content in MP3 format. The format is determined by the preference you set for "import" format. It will not convert "protected" files to MP3.

    Because the U.S. DMCA punishes people who make software to strip copyright protection mechanisms, I'm not sure there are any readily available, mainstream applications to do this. (That said, the web probably is full of executables of questionable safety that will do it.)

    There is a commonly employed workaround. After you have created audio CDs of your music, you can use iTunes or the program of your choice to rip your audio CDs to MP3s. This is possible because audio CD tracks do not retain their protection. At least for now until someone comes up with something new!
