    microsoft silverlight (FF2.0.0.14)

Just got the new FF upgrade. First time I tried to view a wmv file I got a pop up asking if I wanted to view the file with Microsoft silverlight or the old wmp/v viewer.

I never heard of "silver light" and haven't been having any problems with viewing wmv/p's.

Is this thing worth messing with or should one stick with the "old faithfuls?"

Does any body have any experience with this "Silverlight"?

    Tom

Silverlight is the Microsoft competitor for Adobe Flash. If you are happy with the WMP viewer stick with it. BTW, sooner or later you'll end up having to install Silverlight for some site (probably Microsoft's).

Silverlight is a new application from Microsoft intended to be a competitor for Adobe Flash; it's available for Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari. If you like, you can give it a try. The number of websites that use Silverlight is still small (mostly from Microsoft itself), but their number will probably grow in the near future.
