Template meant for Word 2000+ adapt to Word 97 (Wo

    Hi –

I have a template from Mouse Trax MTraxFileCataloger.dot from http://www.mousetrax.com/downloads.html#Cataloger
that does not work with Word97.

When attempting to run the template, the message received is “Compile error in hidden module: frmOptions.” Upon clicking Help, we get “Can’t find c:Program Files]Common Files]Microsfot SharedVBAVEENLr3.Hlp file”

Is there a way to ‘convert’ this for use in Word97?

    Many thanks,
    Acer

    Hi Acer,

    Take a look here:http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winme/1140795885

It may not solve the underlying problem, but installing the VEENLr3.Hlp file might at least give you a more helpful message.

I got out my old PC with Windows 95 and Office 97. It was very dusty, but it still worked. And I even found a diskette that hadn't deteriorated to transfer the code.

The template uses a lot of code that is for Word 2000 and later only, in particular a modeless form to display progress. I disabled all code related to the progress form.
I replaced the InstrRev and Split functions with code that works in Office 97.
Also, Word 97 tables don't have a "fit to page" property so you will have to format the table yourself, either manually or by writing additional code.

The attached template works in Word 97, but I haven't tested it extensively, so I don't know whether it does everything it's supposed to do.
