    Norton life update

Hello, I am having a question re: norton live update. I do an update weekly, sometimes even twice to make sure I got all the files needed. I turned off the Liveupdate option in Norton so it will NOT automatically start updading as it takes for ever and working on my laptop is almost impossible. I now just turned on my laptop wondering why AGAIN is it running so slow and sure enough, the live update from Norton is running even though the box to run liveupdate automatically IS NOT CHECKED. How can that be? Why is it updating automatically anyway?? Please help. Thank you very much, Tira

Which Norton product are you running ?? Which version ??

Have you followed these steps ???

I want to disable Automatic LiveUpdate
    1 Start your Norton product.
2 Click Options. Click Norton AntiVirus if you see a menu.
    3 Click LiveUpdate.
4 Uncheck Turn automatic LiveUpdate on (recommended). This turns off Automatic LiveUpdate for all Norton programs.
    5 Click OK.

    Re: Norton life update

    Tira,

If Doc's suggestion didn't work, Download this utility which will list ALL start-up entries.

    AUTORUNS

Install and run the program, which will then give a very comprehensive list of the programs that run when you start up your system.

CARFULLY, look through these items and if they mention anything about Norton Update, you can disable those start-ups ( by unchecking them ) and again try to reboot.

You can try the steps listed here and if that doesn't help you could try updating Liveupdate here.
