    Instant Search (2007 SP1)

I've recently begun using the 2007 version & there's a prompt, near the top of the Outlook window, that has "Click here to enable Instant Search".

Frankly I don't want Instant Search. I don't want the message/prompt either. But I don't konw how to get rid of it.

Any ideas would be very welcome.

    Thanks.

    Re: Instant Search (2007 SP1)

You can disable Instant Search as follows:
    - Select Tools | Instant Search | Search Options.
    - In the Indexing section, clear the check boxes under "Index messages in these data files".
This does not remove the Instant Search pane, however.

You should be able to remove the prompt as follows:
    - Select Tools | Options...
    - Activate the Other tab.
    - Click Advanced Options...
    - Clear the check box "Show prompts to enable Instant Search".
