Windows Home Server - Email?? (Windows Home Server)

    Hi,
I am looking to get a Windows Home Server, so I got the Dummies for it.
But there is no mention about Email support.

I have 3 domains and a lot of email address and would like to manage them.

Does Windows Home Server do this, if not what is the best way to do this?

    Thanks Stephen

Do you mean three e-mail domains? You need e-mail server software to manage those. WHS does not come with Exchange server. BTW, you would need a much more powerful system than the ones I've seen pre-configured with WHS.

    Hi,
What I have is 3 Domain; the domain hosting company has a ‘catch all’ mail forwarding, which forwards to my ISP mail account.

What I would like to separate out them out to different user e.g. the kids, wife, me, work. At the moment they all come onto one computer and are not backed up in any way.

    Will WHS do this?
If not what is the best solution hardware and software?

    Thanks Stephen

By 3 domains do you mean something like user1@abc.com, user2@def.com, user3@ghi.com? If not, what do you mean and can you supply a generic example of how your e-mail is addressed? BTW, WHS does not have e-mail managment software builtin.

    Hi,
Yes 3 domains as described and a number off address on each domain.

As it is not built-in, what software work well with WHS and will manage my E-mails.
Or is there some other best solution?

    Thanks Stephen

I think you will need a mail server of some kind, to separate the incoming mail and distribute it to separate mailboxes for your users.

There are a few free mail servers available such as hMailServer - I have no experience of it myself - otherwise you'll need to pay for a solution.
