Missing icons (SP2)

I am trying to work out why I am missing the "faces" from some of my icons and how to fix the the problem the icons are useable and some i could fix by going into properties of that icon but some like "my computer" icon it dosen't have that in its properties??? any idea's

If this is a recent occurrence have you tried a System Restore?

Windows keeps an icon cache and it's subject to corruption. If you have TweakUI, you can use it to rebuild the icon cache. Otherwise, you can force Windows to rebuild its cache by changing your display color depth and then changing back (e.g., from 32-bit to 16-bit and then back to 32-bit).

Thanks for the info, upon looking at my display setting I found that they were on 16- bit so changing it back up to 32 fixed the problem
