    Rules and colors (Outlook 2003)

It seems that if I have a view, Messages_A, and I apply that view to all my folders, then I go into one folder, say the Inbox, and make changes to the view like font sizes and colors, those changes will only affect that one folder.

    True?

So then, if I want changes to affect ALL folders, I hve to make the changes to the view *before* i apply it to a folder? Then the changes will carry over to the folers to which the view is applied?

It's a bit tricky, but you should be able to adapt the (basically identical) methods described in Disable Group Views and in Apply global custom views in Microsoft Outlook 2003.
Note that you shouldn't literally follow *all* steps given there, but it should give you the general idea.

    Hans:

I think that, as pointed out in your first link, I used the "Customize Current View" so that it only affected the current folder.

I give the steps a shot.

    Thanks again.

    Hans:

I just tested the " Apply global custom views in Microsoft Outlook 2003."

That works. Colors, Views, and rules all seem to carry along with the copying of the View.

    Very handy!

    Thanks,
