Editing embedded Excel worksheets (97 sr2)

If I edit an embedded Excel worksheet from within Word that is the full page width wide, when I go back to Word the embedded worksheet is truncated (missing cells) from the right hand side and the embedded worksheet is also not as wide in Word as it was previously. I have encountered this problem in several Word documents that have embedded Excel worksheets.
Is there any way to keep embedded worksheet intact after editing it.
    Thanks in advance.

Easiest fix: Try paste-special, as a picture.

Fix2: When you select cells, select an extra column.

Fix3: In Excel, select the cells you want to copy, hit the zoom dropdown and choose "selection". Save the file. Copy the cells and paste into Word (old NT fix).

Fix4: Remove any special page setups in Excel, save the file, then copy/paste.

Thanks for your input. I have found a few interesting things with my problem. It seems that even if it appears you have cut off your columns when you double click it to edit it - all the columns are still there. You simply need to resize the edited worksheet to see all the data. I can resize the worksheet being edited but another user on a different PC but using same version of proghrams can't resize it. It keeps snapping back to the too small size. I suppose its some setting or other in Word. I will go looking for it.

Save the correct size worksheet as a custom view in Excel, and whenever you edit the sheet, before quitting, switch back to this custom view.

    Hi Tony,

I seem to recall something along these lines corrected in one of the SR's. (I've looked and can not turn up anything specific on this)

I noted that you indicated these are installed, however if you ever reinstall Office you need to reinstall the patches too.

Also, how did you insert the Excel Workbook? If you used Insert/Object then that could be the problem. It seems like Word fights to keep a 10x10 worksheet size if you use this method. If you resize it a couple of times (if necessary) while the Excel worksheet is active then eventually it will stay put.

I've also encountered problems where if the object was inline and the page margins were not small enough to accommodate the size of the worksheet object, Word kept forcing it to stay within the margins.

How many cols x rows are you using in the worksheet?

btw, your attachment is the Owner file (~$*.do?) rather than the actual document. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

If I have the worksheet embedded in Word how do I save it as a custom view? The original worksheet in Excel has been deleted.

I have embedded the worksheet as an Excel worksheet. 32col x 20 rows.
