Force Data Entry (XP 5.1.2600 SP3)

Is it possible to prevent further editing of a worksheet until a specific cell has been populated?

I want the user to enter the number of draws they expect to take, and the number of days they expect the project to require -- each in individual cells. I don't want them to be able to complete the remainder of the worksheet until this information has been entered.

    I am a simple user and do not know VBA. <img src=/S/blush.gif border=0 alt=blush width=15 height=15>

You can do this without VBA.
Let's say that you want cells B1 and B2 to be filled in before other cells can be filled.
Enter the following formula in a cell somewhere outside the range that you need, let's say in A50.

    =NOT(OR(ISBLANK(B1),ISBLANK(B2)))

Select the cells that the user should only be able to fill when B1 and B2 have been filled. Do NOT include B1 and B2 in the selection!
    Select Data | Validation.
Select Custom from the Allow dropdown list.
    Enter the formula

    =$A$50

in the box, where A50 is the cell with the formula. The $ characters are essential.
Activate the Error Alert tab, and enter a helpful message to be displayed when the user tries to enter a value while B1 or B2 is empty.
    Click OK.
