Union qry truncating memo flds (2003)

I have 2 queries that select various fields including one memo field. The queries work as expected when run seperately. When I create a union query combining the two of them, the memo fields get truncated to 255 chrs. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Lance

In a standard union query, Access performs an implicit Group By on all fields to weed out duplicate records, and grouping on a memo field converts it to a text field with a maximum length of 255 characters. You can get around this by using UNION ALL instead of UNION. This will remove the implicit Group By. As a consequence, duplicate records will not be suppressed; you'll have to decide whether that is acceptable.
