    AutoFilter Custom List (2003)

I have a worksheet of approximately 7200 records with organizations, employee name, employee ID and billed hours for a specified period. There is no way to sort by a small subset than organization. Is it possible to do a Custom Autofilter sort using somekind of formula array that return the records of 13 employees if the formula referenced their employee ID number?

    Thanks
    Amy

Do you want to sort or do you want to filter?

    Re: AutoFilter Custom List (2003)

I want it to filter to the list of identified employee IDs. I was just wondering if there was a cooler, one step way of referencing a formula, but I can just as well insert another column and fill it with VLOOKUP formulas that reference a table with the employee IDs that I want.

Could that same table be a named range that a Custom Autofilter formula might reference?

The VLOOKUP formulas can refer to a named range.
Or you could add a column with formulas like this (let's assume that the EmployeeIDs are in column C and that the IDs you want to select are 2, 3 and 5:

    =OR(C2={2,3,5})

would be the formula in row 2, to be filled down as far as needed. You could AutoFilter on the value TRUE in this added column.
