    Split Browser Add-On (Firefox)

    Honestly, I don't know if it's a FF2+ or FF any add-on, but I've found what I think to be a spectacular add-on.

Split Browser allows you to take a one frame Firefox window, and make it into a multi-frame browser with different websites viewable in each of the frames.

Tabbed browsing is available also within each of the frames if you desire.

I would have never wanted this type of add-on before, until I got a new display at work. My screen is now a 1920 x 1200 wide screen - perfect for showing more than a page at a time comfortably.

It has potential, especially the tab tiling. It also saves screen real estate over using multiple windows since the panes (frames) share the toolbar(s) of the main window.

BUT, do check the reviews because there do seem to a few "issues". Even so, the overall rating is 4/5 stars.

Another similar extension, with fewer options than Split Browser, is Split Pannel, though I will not comment on the spelling <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
