    Locked Word Files (VBA/Word/2003 SP3)

I need to modify a large number of files located on a server and cannot figure out how to handle those which are currently in use by another user..

Is there any determine if a document is currently locked for editing by another user (without attempting to open it)?

Alternatively, is there any approach which will suppress the Word alert, and throw a VBA error if attempting to open such a file?.

You can use the fIsDocFileOpen function from Modules: Determining who has Word Doc file open.
