    Modifying the Ribbon (Access 2007)

I have created a new tab on the ribbon for an application I am converting from Access 2003 to 2007. No problem adding a few standard commands to the customer tab(thanks to the Access help file).

    Now, I have two questions:

    1. How do I add a macro to the ribbon? In the old world of Access, it was easy to add a button to a toolbar and tie a macro to it. That's what want to do here.

    2. Then, how do I find out the names of the standard Access buttons? I know how to tie a smiley face to something on the Quick Access Toolbar. If I want to tie the smiley face to my macro on the custom ribbon tab, how to I call the button? Based on the examples I've seen, it must be btn something, but I haven't been able to find a cross reference.

The ribbon tab applies to the entire database, not a specific form or report.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

To customize the ribbon, you need to write XML. See Customizing the Office Fluent User Interface in Access 2007.

Hans, I got it to reference the macro and work correctly. Still trying to find if there's a library of the icon names, like the smiley face, piggy bank, etc..

Do you know how I could find them?

    Thanks!

I'm sorry, Hans. I reread the article this morning, and found the right link. I apologize for missing it yesterday.

Now I just need to convince my IS area that it's something I need so they'll bless it and install it on my computer. That will be an adventure.

    Thanks!
