    Error 3190 - too many fields (2003)

    Hi All,

I am trying to run an update query on a table that has 224 fields. I keep getting Error 3190 stating I have too many fields (it says 255 max)....but I'm under 255. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to get around it so the query works?

    Thanks
    Van

Un update query can handle at most 127 columns, since each column is counted twice. The workaround is to split your update query into two update queries, each with fewer than 127 columns.

See ACC2000: "Too Many Fields Defined" Error Message in Update Query (applies to later versions of Access too).
