    FORMULA BAR (Excel2000)

I wrote a macro that includes the following lines:

    Cells(r,16).Formula="=Median($H$" & s &": etc
    Cells(r,17).Formula="=StDev($P$" & s &": etc

The formular bar shows the Function for Median but only shows the value for StDev. The StDev numbers are correct but I don't understand why the formula bar doesn't show the function like the Median.

Does the sheet happen to be protected, and have you ticked the Hidden property of the cells in column Q (no 17)?
If not, could you post a small sample workbook that demonstrates the problem?

Hans, enclosed is a partial worksheet. The Columns P,R,T indicate the function Median in the formula bar. The columns Q,R,S show only the value of StDev

The cells in columns Q, S and U (not Q, R and S!) do *NOT* contain a formula (not even hidden), just a value. I suspect that you have replaced the formulas with their values, either manually or using code.
