    Ctrl F11 (2003)

    Out of interest:

I use Alt F11 to access the VBE but have a 'bad habbit' of hitting Ctrl F11 in error which creates a new worksheet called Macro 1 with wider (than the norm) columns. What is this shortcut for?

It's a macro sheet for adding the old XLM macros.

A long long time ago, Excel didn't have Visual Basic yet. Instead, you could create a special kind of worksheet, a macro sheet. In its cells you didn't enter data and ordinary formulas, but macro functions. A group of cells with macro functions would form a macro that could be run, much like a Visual Basic macro can be run. Although such macro sheets are hardly used any more, they are still supported for compatibility reasons.
