New calendar entries (Office 2003)

When I click Save & Close after creating a new calendar entry, a balloon opens above the system try saying "Microsoft Outlook unable to save free/busy information".

First try the following:
- Close Outlook and wait a few seconds.
- Select Start | Run...
- Type
outlook /cleanfreebusy
and click OK or press Enter.
- Try creating a new calendar entry to see if the problem has gone.

If it persists, try creating a new e-mail profile in the Mail control panel.

After running outlook /cleanfreebusy, Outlook opened and I got a reply, "Unable to cleanfreebusy on the your "server".
(I am not using a server. Just running Outlook from my HD.)

I'd try creating a new e-mail profile.

Should I copy my profile or create a new profile from scratch?

Since you have problems with the current one, I'd create a new one from scratch.

Re: New calendar entries (Office 2003)

I started to create a new profile from scratch, but then realized that this would create a new pst file. Do I run the risk of not being able to move all my contacts, mail including deleted, sent messages, etc., and calendar entries to the new pst file? How involved is moving this data to the new pst file?

You should be able to use the old .pst file with your new profile.
