    lock table columns (Word 2003)

I need to lock down some table properties - specifically column widths. How can I create tables that cannot be changed by the user? The table is a form. As it is filled in, vertical expansion is okay, but I want to lock the column widths.

    Thanks for your help.

You could put form fields from the Forms toolbar in the cells that the user should be able to fill in, then protect the document for forms (using Tools | Protect Document). The user will only be able to fill in the form fields.

    Hi ENA,

You might also need to uncheck the 'Automatically resize to fit contents' option under Table|Table properties|Table|Options.
