Changing Link source via vba (2003)

    Hi there

I am moving a few hundred excel files from one drive to another. Some of these files have links to external workbooks. Although the files are changing drive, the structure of the drive is not changing. So if the link is currently
    J:sales2008North.xls
    the new link would be
    H:sales2008North.xls.

As there are so many links in these files, I would like to write some code to change these automatically, but I can't see a way to do this. Does any one have any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Amanda

Are all the workbooks that contain external links in one folder, or are they spread over several folders on the original drive?

    Hi Hans

They are spread over various folders.

    Thanks

Start by copying the workbooks (or the folder structure including the workbooks) to the new drive.
Open one of the workbooks with links to test whether the links have been updated automatically.
If not, you can try the macro in the attached text file.
