Error Verifying Sectors

My hard drive has been acting up and I ran PC-Doctor on it to check the hard disk. Upon verification of the sectors, a message appears "Error verifying sectors XXXXXXXX - XXXXXXXXX (Seek Failed).

I was able to swap out the old drive for a new one from the manufacturer and used Acronis Drive Image to copy the old drive to the new thus my challenge. I reran PC-Doctor to check the new hard drive and of course I get the same message when checking the sectors.

Other than reformatting the new drive, reinstalling software and transferring files. Is there a way to resolve the sector challenge?

Thanks,
John

Did you use DRIVE Image or TRUE Image?

Re: Error Verifying Sectors

Unfortunately, when you copied the drive, you also copied the problem to the new drive. True Image is not designed to repair the disk, just transfer the setup to a new HD.

Have you tried to do chkdsk /f to see if you can repair any bad sectors on the drive?
