    Eliminat carriage control from file

I'm trying to import a file from a Windows box to a Linux box and the file contains carriage control characters causing alternating lines to be blank. This is messing up my process. Does anyone know how to eliminate these characters so I can use the data on the file? It's a .csv.

There are several freeware applications that let you convert text files between Windows and Linux format, e.g. EOL Converter.
