Desktop access from tray icon

There used to be a utility that placed an icon in the system tray which when clicked showed all the files on the desktop and allowed you to open them. Does anybody know where I can find it these days?

There's a utility in the original Microsoft PowerToys download that will do this. There's also a number of small apps out there that will do the same thing - if you can't find the PowerToys download anywhere (and I bet you will) try downloading DeskMenu which does the same thing.

If you don't mind a bit of your taskbar being taken up, you can turn on the Desktop toolbar by right-clicking on the task bar, going to Toolbars, and turning on Desktop.

I actually found a useful, MS Windows feature... what a concept!
