    Recurring Appointments that aren't! (Outlook 2007 SP1)

    Hi All,
I am running Outlook 2007 SP1 MSO. When I send a meeting request to others (they are running Outlook 2003), it shows up as a never ending recurring appointment in their calendar even though it is a one time appointment in my calendar.

My work around is to make it a recurring appointment in OL2007 and set the recurrence to one time. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Do you have a Dell?

    If so:
    - Open the Add or Remove Programs control panel.
    - Uninstall outlookaddinsetup.

    Hi Hans,
Thanks for getting me on track here. I uninstalled the addin as you suggested but the problem still occurred. I then went into the Outlook COM add-ins and turned them all off! Now the problem is gone. When I get some more time I will test out the add-ins one by one to see which one causes the issue.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi All,
Well, the problem seems to be back now. I have uninstalled all unneeded com add-ins but the problem still occurs. I have also checked for these add-ins on the other machines but there are none. I have uninstalled the outlookaddinsetup as well. Does anyone have any other ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mark

What happens if you turn off all needed add-ins as well?

Have you considered going back to Outlook 2003?

    Hi Hans,
All add-ins turned off, same result. How could MS have overlooked this problem? If I make it a recurring appointment ending after 1 occurrence, it comes into the invitees calendar as a single occurrence. Got any other ideas?

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hans has covered the main issues. On the net I found that one version of WebEx conferencing software may cause this problem, so if you use that product, obtain the most recent version, uninstall the existing version, and then install the most recent version.

It sounds like you are on Exchange Server, so you might also try this repair procedure. Close all instances and windows of Outlook. In the Start | Run command line box, run:

    outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy
-John ... I float in liquid gardens
    UTC -7ąDS

Have you tried running Office diagnostics - Help | Office diagnostics?
