    Change Color (Firefox 2.0.0.14)

I want to change the default color of visited links in Google search results. In Firefox I can click on Tools, Options, Content, Colors, and in the Link Colors Area select my colors. Doing that and unchecking " Allow Pages to Choose Their Own Colors" gives me exactly what I want on the Google page. This solution, however, can really mess up the appearance of some other web pages, including the Lounge. It seems like the right place to do this color change is in Google preferences, but a cursory look there provided me with nothing to check. DId I miss something or is there another way to get what I want ?

You could install the GreaseMonkey addon, and write your own script to modify the visited links for all pages in the Google domain.

I wish I could help you more, however I haven't (yet) jumped into the world of GreaseMonkey scripting.

Thanks for the link Chris. This addon is new to me, but sounds like it will enable a solution.

When a simple style rule is all that is needed, you can use the Stylish extension. There is a repository of user styles for various preferences, and Google shows many for visited links in this query: site:userstyles.org visited links. Of course, GreaseMonkey is invaluable for solving more complex problems.

Thanks for that link Jefferson. What a vast collection of existing styles. I had only wanted a simple link color change, but now I am thinking some real customization. Yet another interesting distraction!
