    Hyperlinks (Word 2002 )

When I Insert | Hyperlink from the menu bar and click on create hyperlink from a web page and browse to web page within the dialog box and click on it. Word inserts the web page address as a hyperlink into the document as it is supposed to do. When I click on the hyperlink to test it, Word puts a window at the bottom of the screen that reads: Word is preparing to load this document: followed by a space for a document name/web page. Nothing happens. I have tried hyperlinks to other documents and it still doesn't work. This worked like a champ in Word 2000.

Also, when this occurs, even after exiting word, I cannot use the IE to get to the web. I have to reboot the system.

    Any ideas?

If you installed IE before 2002, I can understand this, and perhaps you need to run the "repair IE" thing under the Control panel--Add/Remove programs.

If you reinstalled IE after, then I haven't a clue.

    Good luck!

    Hi Doug,

Are you holding <Ctrl> and clicking the link? This is the default behavior for hyperlinks in Word 2002, however it can be changed under Tools/Options/Edit.
    Cheers! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
