    Excel/MSProject Unexpected Error (Excel 2003)

    Hi

I have an Excel Macro which links to MS Project, recently I am having problems where the macro just terminates with an MS Excel Unexpected error - do you want to send the report.

This happens while reading the tasks, so it reads a load then fails, this happens on a mixture of plans but works on others.

I have looked at each plan and there is no common factor between them all.

Has anybody come across such an issue or have any clues.

    Regards

    Mike

Are you certain that the message is generated by Excel and not an error trap in the macro?

What happens if you key in Ctrl + Pause when the message appears?
    Regards
    Don

    Hi Don,

It is definitely a Excel failure because it closes Excel and starts the recovery process, if I use CNTRL+Pause I get an Automation Error window, but Excel still closes and reopens after the recovery process.

    Have you seen this before.

    Regards

    Mike
