    Comment properties (Excel 2007)

Is there any way to change the default formatting for a new comment from Don't Move or Size With Cells to Move But Don't Size with cells?

With the former set and a wide worksheet, problems can arise when there is a comment near the right-hand column and a lot of columns need to be hidden.

I could use a VBA solution but would prefer something the user can just set up for all time, if possible.

No, as far as I know (and posts by Excel MVPs in the newsgroups confirm it) you can't change the default setting.

Thanks for your prompt response to this one, too, Hans - it confirmed my suspicions, but I had spent so long on the shared workbooks post that I only had time for a cursory search of other posts for this topic, and must have used the wrong search criteria, as I didn't find anything useful!

    Cheers
